Panchami is celebrated as Saraswati Puja in most parts of India. It is an
important festival for Hindus throughout the world. This year Saraswati Puja is
being celebrated on 5 February 2022, Saturday.
In 2023, Sarswati Puja will be celebrated on 26 January 2023, Thursday.
In 2024, Sarswati Puja is being observed on 14 February 2024, Wednesday.

Significance
of Basant Panchami or Saraswati Puja
As
per Hindu epics, Basant Panchami is celebrated on Shukla Paksha of Magha month
as it is the day on which the universe was given the gift of sound. On this day,
people greet each other. Basant Panchami is also celebrated as the birthday of mother
Goddess Saraswati. The day is considered auspicious for starting school education
for children.
On
this day mother Goddess Saraswati is worshipped with yellow flowers, yellow
clothes and yellow delicacies. People send happy Basant Panchami and happy Saraswati
Puja greetings to each other through phone or social media.

time or shubh muhurt for Saraswati Puja or Basant Panchami is 7:07 am to 12:35
on 5th February.
How
to Worship Goddess Saraswati
- On
this day wake up early, clean your house and start preparation for worship. - Apply
paste of neem and haldi (turmeric) on your body. - After
bath, wear white- and yellow-colored clothes. - Establish
mother goddess statue at the scheduled place. - Don’t
forget to establish God Ganesha statue beside Goddess Saraswati. - Keep
books, musical instrument or any other form of art at the place of worship.
